Latest covid figures show a stable situation - Latest covid figures released in France show that 7,994 people are hospitalized and 1,577 are in intensive care. 14 deaths were declared in the last 24 hours on Sunday bringing the total number of deaths since the start of the epidemic to 116,463. Meanwhile 4,706 news cases of covid were identified on Sunday September 26th.

In addition, since the start of the vaccination campaign in France, 50,352,639 people have received at least one injection and 48,268,589 people are now completely vaccinated.

French President to attend International Hotel and food catering exhibition - After having attended the "Dinner of the Great Chefs" on Sunday evening, French President Emmanuel Macron will today attend the 20th edition of the International Hotel and Food Catering Exhibition (Sirha) in Lyon. Referred to as the largest world event for the restaurant, hotel and catering sector, Macron is to meet with restaurant owners and will this afternoon preside over the ceremony in the presence of the World Health Organization director general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

Tips payable by credit card – Meanwhile to coincide with the event Emmanuel Macron is expected to announce today the tax exemption for one year, of tips paid by bank cards in hotels and restaurants. With customers using their cards more, a trend accelerated by the health crisis, customers have lost the reflex to tip staff. Macron hopes to change things by encouraging them to tip by credit card.

For one year, throughout 2022, transactions will therefore not be subject to income tax or social contributions. The waiter who receives the tip by credit card will not need to report it to taxes.

Paris Fashion Week - Paris Fashion week kicks off today Monday 27th September with brands returning to physical formats for the women’s Spring/ Summer 2022 shows. Out of 97 houses registered in the official calendar of this Fashion week which ends on October 5, a third have opted for live parades.
