The National Institute of Statistics underlines that the French economy "now clearly exceeds" its pre-health crisis level. The figure is better than expected. In its latest forecast dating from mid-December, the National Institute of Statistics anticipated growth of 6.7% in 2021, a figure similar to the forecast of the Banque de France. Many indicators are indeed green, with an employment rate not seen since 1975, a record drop in unemployment, or even business investment which has exceeded its pre-crisis level, the result in particular of massive public aid (unemployment partial, solidarity fund, etc.) put in place to deal with the epidemic. According to figures recently given by the Minister of Public Accounts Olivier Dussopt, in total, the State will have spent a little more than 60 billion euros last year, at the cost of a public deficit which should be around 7% and a public debt of around 113%.
