Natural Disaster Alert for Drought in the Vaucluse Department

Following the summer 2023 drought; the prefect of Vaucluse has declared 43 communes in the department as being in a state of natural disaster because of soil drought and rehydration. Affected residents have until August 1 to report their damages to their insurance companies. The official decree was published on July 2, 2024, in the Journal Officiel.

The communes affected include:

Apt, Avignon, Le Barroux, Bedarrides, Bedoin, Blauvac, Bollene, Cabrières-d'Avignon, Cairanne, Caumont-sur-Durance, Châteauneuf-de-Gadagne, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Cheval-Blanc, Cucuron, Gordes, Grambois, L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Lapalud, Malaucène, Mazan, Morières-Lès-Avignon, Mormoiron, Orange, Pertuis, Le Pontet, Saignon, Saint-Martin-de-Castillon, Saint-Pantaléon, Saint-Saturnin-lès-Apt, Saint-Saturnin-lès-Avignon, Sainte-Cécile-les-Vignes, Sérignan-du-Comtat, Taillades, Le Thor, Travaillan, Uchaux, Valréas, Vedène, Venasque, Viens, Villes-sur-Auzon, and Visan.
