Mayor of Beausoleil placed in police custody for a second time - The mayor of Beausoleil, Gérard Spinelli, has once again been placed in police custody. Less than a month after being heard for the first time by police in Nice Spinelli, was again placed in police custody on Thursday June 15th. According to reports at the end of May, the investigators of the judicial police had already questioned the mayor of Beausoleil on the” suspicion of embezzlement of public funds and favouritism”. Spinelli has been mayor since 2008. The investigation continues and for the time being the mayor has not responded to requests from local media outlets.
