Macron to meet with Elon Musk today - Emmanuel Macron is meeting with Elon Musk today Friday 16th June, in Paris. The President of the Republic hopes to convince the billionaire to set up a battery factory for electric cars in France. Musk, the controversial boss of Tesla and SpaceX, has arrived in Paris, where he will give a conference in front of 4,000 tech enthusiasts, after a meeting with President Emmanuel Macron. They are reportedly set to discuss artificial intelligence, social networks, regulatory frameworks and cars. Macron has met Elon Musk twice in recent months and hopes to convince him to set up a Tesla battery factory in France. It was at the Choose France summit in Versailles, that the billionaire had promised that Tesla would make "significant investments in France". So far, nothing has been confirmed and his choice could be Spain which has been in competition with France for almost four years after Tesla chose Berlin for its first factory in Europe.
