Road accident causes disruptions on the RDN7 - Two people have been injured in a road accident on the RDN7 in Arcs-sur-Argens this Thursday morning. The two men were taken to hospital following the collision which occurred shortly after 7.30am causing major slowdowns in the area. An investigation is underway to determine the cause.

4th covid dose now available for over 60s - France’s Health Minister has announced that the 4th dose of the covid vaccination is now open for the over 60s. Olivier Véran insisted that the new injection is "not compulsory" and can be injected from six months after the first booster dose. Guest of RTL this morning, Véran confirmed that the trend observed in recent days on the covid epidemic since the beginning of March, has reached its “peak” and is beginning to ebb. With 161,950 positive cases recorded in 24 hours by Public Health France, the average for the last seven days stands at 134,991, after having exceeded 140,000 last Friday.

Covid cases in Monaco - Meanwhile 76 new cases of covid were detected in Monaco on Wednesday April 6th bringing the total number of residents affected to 11,019 since the beginning of the epidemic. Thirty-eight people are currently in hospital and 199 are being followed by the Home Monitoring Centre.


Charles de Gaulle returns to port in Toulon - The aircraft carrier the Charles de Gaulle has arrived in Toulon this Thursday morning. After a mission of two months the carrier arrived in the harbour in the early hours. The carrier with its 1,200 sailors, 22 Rafale fighter planes, 2 surveillance planes, 3 helicopters, 3 frigates, the supply ship and the nuclear submarine had been deployed in eastern and central Mediterranean.
