News Fatal accident on the A8 motorway - An 87-year-old man has died in a road accident on the A8 motorway. The fatal accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon shortly before 4pm between Antibes and Cannes at the Piccolaret motorway service area, in Mougins, westbound. For a reason yet to be determined, a car got stuck under a lorry. Despite the rapid arrival of emergency services, they were unfortunately unable to do anything for the passenger in the car, an 87-year-old man, declared dead at the scene. The other two occupants of the car, a 57-year-old man and an 81-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital in Antibes. Two hours after the accident, traffic conditions were still very difficult on the A8 with the closure of two lanes to allow emergency services to intervene safely despite the bad weather. The measure contributes to achieving the continent's climate objectives, in particular carbon neutrality by 2050. The postal service in France has announced a “digital stamp” from next year. La Poste said Tuesday that it plans to market the digital stamp in the form of a code which can be copied onto the envelope. The technique is already used in Switzerland. Holiday makers are no longer allowed to rent Airbnb listings for parties. Violators face account suspension and a permanent ban from the platform. After having suspended the holidays in the summer of 2020, Airbnb announced on Tuesday the permanent ban in all properties listed on its platform.
