The first results of an investigation into the death of a teenager at Le-Cannet-des-Maures railway station in the Var have been released. The investigation has shown that the 18 year old woman's scooter got stuck in the railway tracks in the path of an oncoming TGV train. The accident happened last Saturday afternoon. The prosecutor's office said that psychological support has been provided to witnesses.

The Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Regional Health Agency has said that epidemic indicators of bronchiolitis are on the rise. However, it said that so far the epidemic in our region is similar to previous years in terms of severity and timing. There were 498 visits to hospital emergency departments for bronchiolitis recorded last week against 469 in the previous week. The number of hospitalizations for the condition in children under 2 years old is increasing with 194 admissions last week against 164 in the previous week.

 A 63 year old man has been charged in connection with the death of a hunter in the Vaucluse department. Reports say that a dozen people were involved in the deer hunt near the commune of Monieux at the weekend when the man was shot. An investigation is continuing into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Two people have died after a motorboat capsized near the finish of the Route du Rhum transatlantic sailing race off Guadeloupe. Organizers said that eleven people were on the follower boat when it overturned. Two people, who were part of the organising team couldn't be saved by rescuers.
