According to authorities the Nice region has experienced an earth tremor. The weather warning issued for the Var region due to high winds has been increased to an orange alert by Meteo France. According to the latest forecast, gusts are expected to reach 90 to 110 km an hour, with peaks of up to 130 km hour. The warning is in place from this afternoon and is not expected to be lifted before this evening.
