Power cuts - As strong winds hit the Alpes Maritimes on Sunday 1,800 households were still without electricity this morning. The areas the worst affected were Nice, Conte and Châteauneuf. Strong winds saw in total 3,500 homes experience power cuts on Sunday and while the wind has died down the region, along with the Var, remains on a yellow weather alert until this evening due to gust of up to 110km/h forecast. The French electricity board has said that hundreds of technicians have been mobilized in order to restore electricity in all homes by this evening.
