Since the opening of the Nantes tramway in 1985, more than twenty towns and cities across France have built new tram lines. Twelve cities in France were in the ranking . Strasbourg came 2nd and Angers 3rd. The tramway in Nice ranked 8th in the survey behind Marseille and ahead of Grenoble, Nantes and Lille.
