French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe to run for mayor - French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe has announced he is to run for mayor of Le Havre in March’s local elections. Speaking to French media the Prime Minister added that “he would however stay in Matignon if he is elected and leave his place to another person on his list”.  The announcement is not a surprise. Edouard Philippe was mayor of Le Havre between 2010 and 2017.
