Best place to live in France - Nice has ranked 6th in a survey to find where the best place to live in France is. The survey studied official data on education, shops and services, health, sports and leisure, solidarity, quality of life, and transport to come up with a 'definitive' ranking of nearly 35,000 villages, towns and cities.
Annecy, in the Haute-Savoie, tops the study for towns and cities, ahead of Bayonne and La Rochelle. Angers and Le Man complete the top five. Of the larger cities, Nice comes in sixth, then Bordeaux (eighth) and Strasbourg (11th). Toulouse was ranked 29th, Lyon 56th, Marseille 85th and Lille 86th and Paris ranked 58th.
