Barclays Named “Best Private Bank in Monaco” at the 2018 Global Private Banking Awards

Barclays was named “Best Private Bank in Monaco” at the 2018 Global Private Banking Awards, recognising the bank’s continuous commitment to delivering expert, tailored services across the regional and international private banking sector.

The Global Private Banking Awards ceremony, which took place at the Sheraton Park Lane, London, celebrated leading private banks from over 60 countries and was judged by a panel of fifteen independent industry professionals based in North America, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

Francesco Grosoli, Chief Executive Officer, Barclays Private Bank – EMEA, said: “Barclays is delighted to have been recognised as the Best Private Bank in Monaco.  Our clients value the quality of our advice and our unparalleled regional and global expertise. We are very proud of our heritage as a British bank in Monaco, and our ability to offer our clients unique links to the United Kingdom”.

Yuri Bender, Editor in Chief, Professional Wealth Management (PWM), which organised the awards, said: “Monaco is a very competitive market, with both local, French and international banks competing for assets banked by a diverse, wealthy clientele. Against this backdrop, the panel of judges believed Barclays has both the reputation and quality of service to shine amongst this cohort of competitors”.

The judging panel awarded Barclays “Best Private Bank in Monaco’ based on its strengths in a number of key areas. These include the high level of client service, Barclays’ bespoke services and product offering, the diverse team of experts supporting clients on the ground, and the ability to provide seamless access to Barclays’ global Corporate and Investment Bank. With more than 20 in-house investment specialists and a range of local advisors, Barclays Monaco is capable of servicing all nationalities present in Monaco and employees speak over 15 languages. The Private Bank has a long history in Monaco – it was the first foreign private bank to open its doors in Monte Carlo in 1922, and it’s the only remaining UK bank in the principality.
