Recycling - According to figures released today - 2017 has been a “satisfactory" year for 90% of recycling companies in France thanks to a "growth of 2%" in terms of volumes collected. However, the recycling of plastics fell by 0.2%. Plastics were less recycled in 2017 with a 0.2% decrease in the number of tonnes collected. Only 25% of plastics are recycled by the French, compared to 40% by some European states, like Norway or Germany. Meaning France is still far from the goal of President Emmanuel Macron of 100% recycled plastics by 2025.
