Compensation - A couple from Cannes who had managed to falsely claim compensation from the Guarantee Fund for Victims of Terrorism (FGTI) after the Paris bombings and the Nice attack will appear in court in Grasse today. Sasa Damjanovic and his companion Vera Vasic who are Cannes residents, had claimed to have been at the Stade de France on the evening of 13 November 2015, to receive the money intended for the victims which amounted to 60,000 euros. At the end of July, the couple filed a second claim for compensation. An investigation later proved that the pair had been in Cannes at the time of the attack and admitted to having lied. Both face a possible 14 year prison sentence.
