Security report suggests arming municipal police officers in France

Security report suggests arming municipal police officers in France - A security report presented to the French Prime Minister by two party deputies today, has proposed several new measures to improve the coordination between police, the municipal police and private security agents in France. According to French media one of the measures would include making the arming of municipal police officers mandatory. The municipal police would be armed with semi-automatic pistols, as are the national police and gendarmes. The report also recommends numerous measures concerning the 167,800 private agents in France, such as the possibility of arming them with a Taser.
