Protests in Marseille

Protests in Marseille – Motorist in Marseille have been warned of difficulty in circulating in the city today as market stall holders protest against renovation work which is planned for the famous “La Plaine” popular street market. The protest comes as French President Emmanuel Macron is to meet in the Old Port of Marseille with German Chancellor Angela Merkel later on today to discuss the future of Europe. Meanwhile  the leader of the French political party “France insoumise” Jean Luc Mélenchon has announced his presence along with the CGT as part of a rally organized saying  “No to Europe”.
