Earlier this week, the Monaco Minister of Finance and Economy, Jean Castellini, opened the annual conference for staff from Monaco’s Tourism and Congress Department from around the world. Each office had the opportunity to present the figures and trends of its market for the year 2017 and announce the various events and projects it’s organising in the coming year. The conference enables Monaco Tourism staff from around the world to discuss strategies that will be developed for foreign markets to increase the economic impact of tourism in the Principality. The Monaco Tourism and Congress Department and its 10 offices organize more than 250 events each year in more than 20 countries around the world.
The route for the 10th Africa Eco Race has been announced. The car rally will start at 10 a.m. on 31 December, departing from the Quai Antoine 1er on the Port of Monaco. The contestants will cross Morocco, Mauritania and Senegal, arriving at the Lac Rose at the end of the race on the 14th of January. The route covers a total of 6,500 km with an emphasis on respecting the environment and the people encountered. As part of an increasingly responsible approach, various systems are being implemented, such as photovoltaic panels on the check point vehicles and tracking to regulate speeds in the villages that the rally will pass through.
