French government is to tighten rules on French supermarkets

French government is to tighten rules on French supermarkets - The French government has announced plans to tighten rules on supermarket promotions following the recent scenes of shoppers battling to get their hands of discounted goods such as Nutella. Recent promotional deals have led to in-store scuffles over cut-price jars of Nutella and discounted nappies, the finance minister said on Wednesday. The DGCCRF consumer agency announced on Monday that it was launching an investigation into the discounts.
