A young man has died in Antibes after apparently falling from a building. He was found in the early hours of this morning on Traverse Fontmerle, near the Route de Saint-Jean. Emergency services were unable to save him.
A search has been launched in the Isere department for a girl who disappeared from a wedding party over the weekend. 9 year old Maelys was last seen in the early hours of Sunday morning while attending the wedding party with her parents in the village of Pont-de-Beauvoisin.
A woman has lost her life in a paragliding accident in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. The alarm was raised by fellow paragliders on the Cheval Blanc mountain in Tartonne. Medics attended the scene in a helicopter but were unable to save the 62 year old.
A fire broke out this morning in a building in the Val de Gorbio area of Menton, near La Palmosa hospital. Firefighters were quickly on the scene and the blaze was extinguished with no casualties being reported.
IN FRENCH NATIONAL NEWS…A summit is taking place in Paris to consider ways to curb the flow of migrants across the Mediterranean. The summit is being hosted by President Emmanuel Macron and will also be attended by Chancellor Angela Merkel and government leaders from Italy and Spain.
It’s been announced that American TV network CBS is acquiring the Australian Ten Network. Ten was placed in voluntary administration in June. The acquisition reportedly still needs the approval of Australia's Foreign Investment Review Board.
Uber has reportedly appointed a new Chief Executive. Dara Khosrowshahi, who is currently the chief executive of travel site Expedia, has been appointed after several months of deliberation by Uber’s board following the resignation of Travis Kalanick in June.

CRICKET….England are playing West Indies at Headingley. Meanwhile, crowd trouble has marred India’s victory over Sri Lanka. A group of spectators threw bottles onto the field causing play to be suspended for 35 minutes.
