Shooting - A man is helping police with enquiries after a number of shots were fired at a building on Rue Albert Premiere in Nice last night. It’s believed the man was drunk at the time, and was shooting at a love rival, whose hand was injured in the incident.
Court - A case of a revenge attack has been heard at the court in Grasse today. Four men are accused of the armed robbery of two petrol stations in Antibes, before ransacking the villa of the owner. It’s believed the men were acting on behalf of a former employee of the petrol station who was fired.
Butter - International demand for butter is leading to an increased shortage here in local supermarkets. Retailers are also struggling with a huge price increase, where the price of butter has gone from €2,500 to €7,000 a ton, over the last year alone.
Spain - French Catalan’s have offered to host a government-in-exile, should the Catalonian president formally declare independence from Spain. The government would be hosted in Perpignan, just north of the border, where several Catalan Republicans fled during the dictatorship of General Franco.
Global wine production is expected to fall to its lowest level in more than 50 years, according to the International Organisation of Vine and Wine.
