Authorities are searching for a 16 year old girl who went missing in Antibes yesterday. Manon Lovera was last seen waiting for the line 8 bus towards Vallauris at the bus stop on the place De Gaulle in Antibes yesterday morning. According to local media she is 1m75 tall, weighs 55-60 kg, has light eyes, and brown square cut hair. She was probably wearing black leggings, a gray cap, a black scarf and a black top.
The SNCF has announced disruptions on the regions train network between Marseille and Aix-en-Provence today, with 4 out of five trains running. Passengers are advised to check for any changes to the timetable on the SNCF website. The disruption is due to regional strike action.
The ski resort of la Colmiane experienced cuts to it’s water supply over the New Year period. Water was cut from the evening of the 31st December and the supply was reportedly intermittent on New Year’s Day. The problems are thought to be due to the lack of rainfall followed by a spike in water consumption around the New Year. Two temporary water distribution points were installed at the tourist office in La Colmiane and at la Maison des chasseurs in Saint-Dalmas.
The winter sales season started today in the shops of Monaco. Monaco’s sales usually begin before those in neighbouring parts of France. Sales in the Alpes Maritimes begin on January the 10th.
There was a small earth tremor in the Var this morning. According to data from the National Seismic Monitoring Network a tremor of 2.8 on the Richter scale occurred at ten to eight this morning off the coast of the Var between Toulon and Six-Fours.

A child has died in a car accident in the Hautes-Alpes. According to reports, there was a collision between two cars on the RN94 near Embrun. A 5 year old boy from Aubagne lost his life and his parents have been airlifted to hospital in a serious condition.
According to a new survey of businesses, manufacturing in the Eurozone grew in December by its fastest pace since the survey began in June 1997. The IHS Markit/CIPS Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index stood at 60.6. A figure over 50 indicates growth. Meanwhile in the UK the index dropped to 56.3 in December, from 58.2 in November.
Marks & Spencer has sold its retail business in Hong Kong and Macau to its franchise partner Al-Futtaim. The deal reportedly involved 27 Marks and Spencer stores.
Tennis…Andy Murray has withdrawn from the Brisbane International because of his ongoing hip injury. Murray has said that he may now have to consider surgery. The former world number one is down to sixteenth in the world, having not played since July. Murray had been due to play American Ryan Harrison in Brisbane on Thursday.
Cricket…The pitch used for the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground has been rated as "poor" by the International Cricket Council. Steve Smith, the Australia captain said that it "was probably the flattest wicket” he had played on. Cricket Australia has 14 days to provide a response.
Football… Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been charged by the Football Association over comments made to match officials after the club’s match against West Brom on New Year’s Eve. It is alleged that Wenger’s conduct in the match officials' changing room was abusive and that he questioned the integrity of the referee. The referee, Mike Dean, awarded a last-minute penalty to West Brom from which they scored. Wenger has until 6pm UK time on Friday to respond.
