Bad weather is creating travel havoc across the region today, affecting flights, roads and train services.

All flights into, and out of, Nice Cote d’Azur airport have been cancelled until at least 10pm this evening, with some arriving flights being diverted to Marseilles. Passengers are advised to consult their airline regarding alternative flights or refunds.

Most train services between Nice Ville and Ventimeliga have been cancelled or delayed indefinitely due to a power problem, leading to extensive delays on the line between Nice Ville and St Raphael.

Along the coast, a high water warning is in place, and some coastal walkways are closed, including the Promenade Reine Astrid in Menton, the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, the Boulevard du Midi in Cannes, the Promenade de la Plage in Cagnes-sur-mer.

Earlier today, in Nice, Cannes and Menton, school children were asked not to return after the lunch-break while parents were asked to collect other children early.
