60 million consumers - In a special issue published today the magazine 60 Million consumers has listed nearly 100 products with additives that "increase the risk of cancer”. The magazine explains that "studies are converging" on ingredients which are used for the texture, colours or taste. According to this survey of 60 million consumers, consumers are eating too much salt because 80% of the salt that we absorb comes from processed foods. As far as sugars are concerned, 70% of sugars are added, hidden, in salted foods such as vinaigrette or ketchup. The magazine takes several examples such as the slice of bread that is saltier than a packet of crisps.
